City Council to discuss nuisance properties, anti-crime programs Committee vote on future site of Fire Station #20 also expected
SEATTLE – The City Council’s Public Safety, Human Services and Education (PSHSE) Committee will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m. to discuss new legislation that targets property owners who allow repeated criminal behavior on their premises.
In addition, the committee will hear an independent evaluation of three crime prevention programs: the Court Specialized Treatment and Access to Recovery Services (CO-STARS), Get Off The Streets (GOTS), and Communities Uniting Rainier Beach (CURB). Also on the agenda is a vote on the future site of Queen Anne Fire Station #20. At the committee’s last meeting, Committee Chair Tim Burgess directed staff to prepare legislation for designating a new site at the intersection of 15th Avenue West and West Armour Street.
The Council invites public input at the meeting, to be held in City Council Chambers located inside City Hall, at 600 4th Avenue.
